Three Generations of bakers
In the Loaded Mamas kitchen, baking isn't just a skill; it's a legacy passed down through generations. As a third-generation baker, I'm proud to carry forward the traditions instilled in me by my grandmother and mother.
From the age of four, I found myself perched on a stool beside my grandmother, learning the art of baking chocolate chip cookies. Those early memories of flour-dusted countertops and the smell of fresh baking ignited a passion in me that continues today.
Growing up, our kitchen was a place where recipes were treasured heirlooms and every cake told a story. Whether it was mastering the perfect sponge cake or experimenting with new flavor combinations, baking became my language of love – a way to connect with my family and community on a deeper level.
As I stepped into the role of owner and head baker at Loaded Mamas, I knew I was carrying more than just a whisk and mixing bowl. I had found purpose, something for me, beyond raising my tamariki, organising the local junior rugby club, and time with my family.
Being a third-generation baker isn't just about mastering recipes; it's about honoring the past while embracing the future. It's about infusing each cake and cookie with the love and tradition that have been passed down. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
